Shooting THE DAY THE ROBOTS WOKE UP at the Movieum of London.

The Day The Robots Woke Up

The Movieum of London is dedicated to helping young film makers get their productions off the ground with expertise and resource.

The Movieum Film Partnership can work in many different ways from simple production advice to executive production and facilities. One such partnership was with Ed Hartwell, an extremely talented Animator.

Ed Hartwell, Producer of "The Day The Robots Woke Up" said:

'Shooting THE DAY THE ROBOTS WOKE UP at the movieum. First of all the location of the building itself came in very handy as I was building a model of Westminster bridge and the houses of parliament. The background images of water were taken in the actual locations to be used in the model. I was also given access to the movieum's store room, a labyrinth of boxes containing a strange selection of items from a giant tooth brush to an aliens hand. One of my sets was constructed from a box of aeroplane cockpit parts, a giant fiberglass speaker and Darth Vaders cloak. Unlike a conventional animation studio where one is shut up alone in a dark room for many hours, shooting at the movieum involves sharing a dark room with an animatronic dinosaur, a Dalek and many other creatures, including members of the public who are actually interested in what you are doing'
